Our hair becomes brittle and frizzy due to the high quantity of moisture in the environment during monsoons. When our strands absorb too much moisture, they swell up. As a result, it deteriorates the quality of our hair and leads to excessive hair fall. Furthermore, acid rain makes our scalp dry and flaky with dandruff. Thus, taking care of our hair becomes difficult during this season, but worry not, we have an easier alternative for you.
Bollywood’s favourite nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar dropped a post on her Instagram space where she acknowledged these issues and listed some food suggestions that will aid in preventing your monsoon hair loss.
Methi dana:
- Infuse some methi dana into warn coconut oil and let it cool for some time. Post this, apply it to your scalp and leave it overnight.
- You can also add it to your kadhi or have it with khichdi for dinner.
- Use it for giving tadka to your veggies like pumpkin or add it to your raita for flavour.
- People with hormonal hair loss issues, PCOD, etc must switch to methi dana as according to her it improves the insulin response, which further fixes these problems.
Aliv seeds (Garden cress, Halim):
- These seeds are very effective for controlling hair loss. Furthermore, these also help with the hair loss that is caused due to chemo treatment.
- To enjoy the benefits of aliv seeds you should soak them and have them with milk at night.
- These seeds are rich in iron. For better results, you should add them to your ladoos with coconut and ghee.
Nutmeg:
- These are abundant in vitamin B6, folic acid and magnesium which are excellent for preventing hair loss and distress.
- To obtain better results, “Add a small pinch to milk (along with Aliv) and have it as a nightcap," Rujuta penned in her caption.
- She further talked about other useful ingredients that are as follows:
Ghee: for its essential fats
Haldi: for its immune-boosting properties
Dahi: for the minerals and probiotic bacteria
