Garba is a high-energy folk dance that started in Gujarat and is performed with enthusiasm at the auspicious Navratri festival. And when we talk about Garba, the very first name that comes to our mind is the singer Falguni Pathak. The festival almost looks incomplete without her trademark songs which have been entertaining the audience for many years. One of the most renowned singers, Falguni earns a staggering amount during this festive season.
As per a report by the Free Press Journal, Falguni charges over Rs 20 lakh for a night event during Navratri. She is also one of the most preferred singers of the Ambani family and is invited to perform at many events held by them. According to a report in Dainik Bhaskar, Falguni earns around Rs 1.4 crore in nine days.
Falguni, also known by the fans as Dandiya Queen embarked on her singing career in 1998. She provided her vocals to many chartbusters like Chudi Jo Khanki, Maine Payal Hai Chhankai, Meri Choonar Ud Ud Jaye and others. She, however, didn’t work so much in the Hindi film industry.
She revealed the reason behind this in an earlier interview with Hindustan Times. Falguni said, “I never took Bollywood seriously. I did get offers, but when you enter Bollywood, you need to work doubly hard. I was happy doing my shows and albums.” Falguni also remained unperturbed by the increasing competition from other singers like Rahul Vaidya, Bhoomi Trivedi and others.
The Dandiya Queen added that she never thought of competition since she started her journey in the music industry. According to Falguni, she only gives her best and focuses on the fact that the audience should get their money’s worth. “Over the years, I have seen people’s responses growing. Normally, you would expect that the interest levels will dip, but it has been the opposite when it comes to my performances,” she added.
This year, Falguni Pathak is performing at Late Shri Pramod Mahajan Sports Complex in Chikuwadi, Borivali West. The event started in Borivali West on October 17 and will end on October 24.
