Fans of The Crown are eagerly awaiting the final season and the trailer for this Netflix drama has finally been unveiled. For the first time, the series will be split into two parts and the newly released trailer offers a glimpse into what viewers can expect. Part 1 of the final season, comprising four episodes will be released on November 16. It will delve into the life of Princess Diana played by Elizabeth Debicki, her relationship with Dodi Fayed (Khalid Abdalla) and their tragic accident that shook the world in 1997. The trailer provides a sneak peek at Diana’s struggle with constant paparazzi intrusion and her attempts to enjoy a private life. The trailer hints at the challenges she faced, including a scandalous picture of her and Dodi kissing flashes across a newspaper.

We also get a look at the lives of Prince William and Prince Harry, played by Ed McVey and Luther Ford respectively, as they go through their royal responsibilities following the tragic loss of their mother. The intense media scrutiny after Diana’s untimely death and the royal family’s complex relationship with the press is also shown. Diana receives an invitation for a trip to Paris from Dodi, and viewers are aware of what happened with the young royal in the city on August 31, 1997. The trailer includes a moment where Prince Charles, played by Dominic West, stating, “This is going to be the biggest thing that any of us has ever seen."

The official synopsis of The Crown season 6 read, “A relationship blossoms between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed before a fateful car journey has devastating consequences. Prince William tries to integrate back into life at Eton in the wake of his mother’s death as the monarchy has to ride the wave of public opinion. As she reaches her Golden Jubilee, the Queen reflects on the future of the monarchy with the marriage of Charles and Camilla and the beginnings of a new Royal fairytale in William and Kate."

Following the conclusion of Part 1, fans of the Netflix series can mark their calendars for the final episodes of the series, which are set to release on December 14. These episodes will explore the royal family’s history, including Prince Charles’ wedding with Camilla Parker Bowles, portrayed by Olivia Williams. The focus remains on Charles’ sons, William and Harry. The cast also includes Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth 2, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip and Meg Bellamy will join the cast as Kate Middleton.

The Crown made its debut in 2016 and has a total of 21 Emmy wins. In 2021, the series achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first show to take all seven drama categories at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards.
