Gayatri Joshi, who is best known as Shah Rukh Khan’s co-star in Swades, and her husband Vikas Oberoi narrowly escaped a horrific car crash in Sardinia. The car crash involved a speeding Ferrari that hit a Lamborghini and a camper van. Gayatri and Vikas were reportedly driving behind the cars when the collision took place and claimed lives of the elderly couple inside the Ferrari. Video of the crash has gone viral now. Who is Gayatri Joshi?
Bollywood lovers know Gayatri for her role in Swades. The actress played Shah Rukh’s love interest in the Ashutosh Gowariker film. However, she did a lot more than just Swades when she was a part of the industry. As per a Telegraph India report from 2005, Gayatri began her career as a model and ventured into acting thereafter. She was among the top five finalists at the Miss India beauty pageant in 1999 and represented India at Miss International, which took place in Japan, in 2000. Beside Swades, Gayatri appeared in music videos sung by Jagjit Singh and Hans Raj Hans. She also was a VJ.
She married Vivek Oberoi in 2005 and gave up her media career to focus on her personal life.
Who is Vikas Oberoi?
Vivek Oberoi, also known as Vikki Oberoi, is a renowned businessman. The real estate tycoon is the chairman and managing director of Oberoi Realty Ltd. As per a report by Forbes, he also owns the Westin Hotel in Mumbai and is building Mumbai’s first Ritz-Carlton hotel and residences. He reportedly studied at the Harvard Business School. According to The Financial Express, he also has a pilot’s licence and reportedly flies his Cirrus SR22 Tango aircraft.
Besides this, it is also reported that he is best friends with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. Vikas and Gayatri have often been spotted stepping out together in the past.
Vikas and Gayatri also share two sons together.
