Former chief of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) K Sivan on Tuesday said that all the tests for India’s ambitious Gaganyaan project have been completed and the mission is all set for a successful launch.
In a conversation with CNN News18, the former ISRO Chief said that this mission is a flagship program that aims is to send humans to space and bring them back safely to Earth.
He further said that the first round of training of the astronauts took place in Russia and the second part of the training will take place in India.
While talking about the mission, Sivan said that the initial mission will be conducted with test pilots and once that is successfull then other mission scientists can also go.
He also informed that the next big mission will be a joint satellite by NASA and ISRO. “We are working on it,” he added.
