In a commendable initiative aimed at fostering a cleaner and healthier society, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially kicked off an extensive cleanliness drive, set to continue until October 31. This initiative is designed to encourage active participation from students, teachers, and the broader community in order to propagate the crucial message of cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene throughout society.
This initiative is taken to commemorate the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It signifies the CBSE’s unwavering commitment to promoting a cleaner and more hygienic environment for everyone. The Board firmly believes that such initiatives are pivotal in nurturing a sense of responsibility towards the environment and public health.
On the 1st of October, at 10 AM, all CBSE officers, employees, and affiliated schools wholeheartedly participated in various events and sanitation activities as part of the Cleanliness Drive. This drive, aptly named Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Sath, exemplified the collective efforts to make a significant impact on the cleanliness and hygiene standards within the society.
CBSE-affiliated schools have taken up the mantle of this initiative with great enthusiasm, selecting diverse locations for their cleanliness activities. “The sites chosen for cleanliness drive activities were Garbage Vulnerable Points, Railway tracks and Stations, Areas surrounding schools, Slums, under bridges, Market spaces etc,” says CBSE in a press release.
As an example of the commitment and spirit of this initiative, the CBSE also took to X (formally known as Twitter) and shared before and after images of the sites chosen by schools for the cleanliness drive.
