Bharatiya Janata Party’s Madhya Pradesh chief and MP VD Sharma has questioned the ‘Jai-Veeru’ pair of the Congress in the state – Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh – saying Nath’s hands are smeared with the blood of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, while Singh had questioned surgical strikes.
The Congress has been trumpeting the unity of Nath and Singh, calling them ‘Jai-Veeru ki Jodi’ in reference to the hit film ‘Sholay’ and the characters of Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra.
“Kamal Nath is ‘Corruption Nath’, Digvijaya Singh is ‘Bantadhar’. Jai and Veeru were declared criminals, so the public knows why the Congress is calling them that. They are fighting like anything. Kamal Nath’s hands are smeared with the blood from the 1984 riots. An inquiry is still on. Digvijaya Singh has backed the PFI and had asked for a proof of the Army’s surgical strikes in Pakistan," Sharma told News18 in an interview in Bhopal.
He said the BJP’s jodi was “development and welfare of poor" and reiterated that “MP ke mann mein Modi hai", the party’s poll slogan.
ON RAM TEMPLE POSTERS
Bhopal is full of the BJP’s posters announcing the upcoming Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Sharma justified it saying, “Lord Ram is our shraddha aur aastha ke kendra. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, history will be made on January 22 next year. We have put up Ram Temple posters as we have Lord Ram in our hearts. Why does Congress have a problem? They have a problem with sanatan, their allies want to end sanatan. They can put up Babar posters if they have Babar in their hearts."
PALESTINE ENTRY INTO MP ELECTIONS?
The BJP state president also slammed Congress MLA from Khargone, Ravi Joshi, whose family members from an election state recently observed a two-minute silence for those killed in Palestine. “They are supporting Hamas and it shows how the Congress is using the election for minority appeasement and polarisation. In the Congress Working Committee, a resolution was passed for Palestine. Ravi Joshi and family are observing shradhanjali for Hamas terrorists," Sharma said.
NAKUL NATH SUPREME?
Kamal Nath’s son on Tuesday invited the public to the oath-taking ceremony of Kamal Nath as the CM on December 7. “Is Nakul Nath above the AICC and CWC? Kamal Nath earlier said Nakul would declare Chhindwara tickets and the same tickets, as spelt out by Nakul, were declared. Digvijaya Singh and Kamal Nath are working for their respective sons…like the Centre where the Gandhi family works for its good, the Congress here works for just two families," Sharma said.
Asked who will be the BJP CM if the party wins, Sharma said the party will decide on the same after displaying collective leadership.
