10. Ambikapur is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Chhattisgarh and is part of Surguja (ST) Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Ambikapur falls in Surguja district and North region of Chhattisgarh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,25,830 voters in the seat, which includes 1,13,061 male voters, and 1,12,744 female voters. In the 2018 Chhattisgarh elections, Ambikapur recorded a voter turnout of 78.47%. In 2013 the turnout was 80.69%, and in 2008 it was 70.72%.
In 2013, T S Baba of INC won the seat by a margin of 19,558 votes (11.93%). T S Baba secured 51.64% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 948 votes (0.71%), registering 42.12% of the total votes polled.
