Bihar: BJP calls for 'Hunkaar rally' against JDU
More importantly, Gujarat CM Narendra Modi is expected to participate in the BJP's rally.

Patna: The rift between the Janata Dal (United) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), coalition partners in the Bihar government, has widened. The latter on Friday called for a Hunkaar rally in the state in April 2013, in response to the Adhikaar rally by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

More importantly, Gujarat CM Narendra Modi is expected to participate in the BJP's rally. Modi and Nitish do not see eye-to-eye and Nitish has often threatened the BJP that it will withdraw its support if the BJP chooses Modi as its prime ministerial candidate.

In a sign of strain in the ruling alliance in Bihar, the BJP said it may part ways with the JDU and contest all 40 seats in the next Lok Sabha elections. Speaking to mediapersons in Patna, CP Thakur, the president of the Bihar unit of the BJP, said that the party was already preparing to contest all the 40 Lok Sabha seats alone.

Justifying the stand on Tuesday, Thakur said, "As a political party, it is imperative to be ready to contest all the 40 seats." The state president of the BJP said that the party was already preparing to contest all the 40 Lok Sabha seats alone.
