New Delhi: CNN-IBN’s Executive Editor Bhupendra Chaubey has been covering Bihar Assembly elections from ground zero. Chaubey interacted with the viewers of CNN-IBN and readers of IBNLIVE on Bihar Assembly elections.
Chaubey feels that it's imperative for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to win this election, while the Delhi debacle could have been dismissed as an aberration.
Modi is the central face of this campaign and with threat of Non-Congress and Non-BJP parties looming large, it will be difficult for him to shrug this off.
Talking about the combination of Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav, Chaubey said that caste politics is an undeniable reality of Bihar and Lalu Yadav is the champion of this brand of politics. The challenge for Nitish is how to weave in his brand of Vikas Purush with caste of Lalu.
The next big challenge would be whether caste and development could go hand in hand in Bihar.
