Varanasi: The Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday released its manifesto for Varanasi, the constituency where its chief Arvind Kejriwal is challenging BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
From 'Ganga' to 'Parliament', AAP promises to cleanse it all in its poll manifesto. "It is Varanasi that would decide the course of politics in the country. You have to elect a government which cleanses the Ganges and the Parliament too," it reads.
Apart from the regular promises to improve road, health, sewage and water facilities in Varanasi, a key feature of AAP's manifesto is that it has promised to bring home the title of 'Holy City'.
The AAP in its seven-page manifesto has accepted that the BJP was giving it a mammoth contest for the Lok Sabha sear as it has not acknowledged any other party in the seven-page booklet.
"Varanasi has two options- AAP and BJP,"it reads. It has slammed the BJP for the poor state of affairs in the temple town.
Boasting of its 49-day stint with power in Delhi, AAP has promised to eradicate corruption in Varanasi and India as a whole. The 'common man's party' has also tried to address problems faced by vendor, trader communities.
