The dossier will be submitted to the Congress in charge of Karnataka and party general secretary Digvijaya Singh.

NEW DELHI: The anti-Siddaramaiah faction in Karnataka Congress is preparing a dossier on the Chief Minister. According to high level sources in the party, the dossier will be submitted to the Congress in charge of Karnataka and party general secretary Digvijaya Singh during his visit to Bangalore on October 19. Digvijaya Singh is chairing a meeting of all Congress MLAs, MPs and state Congress leaders in Bangalore. The meeting has been convened to discuss party's preparedness for the coming Lok Sabha elections.

But, the simmering dissidence in the party is likely to dominate the agenda of the meeting. The MLAs and MPs who are upset over the style of functioning of Siddaramaiah have decided to take on him in the meeting. They are angry over the delay in appointing chairpersons to the various boards and corporations run by the government.

A senior minister who spoke to ibnlive on the condition of anonymity said "For me, it does not look like a Congress government. Out of 30 ministers including the CM, 12 are from the Janata Dal. All his close aides and advisors are also from the Janata Dal background. He listens only to them. He humiliates original Congress leaders. The recent transfer of government officials was handled entirely by this coterie and they allegedly made several Crores from the PWD department alone. Requests of the original Congress MLAs, MLCs and other leaders were ignored. We can't tolerate this any longer".

Another senior leader said "Siddaramaiah wanted to be the Chief Minister. Sonia Gandhi has fulfilled his dream by making him the CM. It was a blunder. He is now telling everyone that he is not going to contest in the next election and will retire from politics. How can the CM talk like this? That too ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. He has got everything, he wanted to get. But, what about the party? The party will suffer because of him".

The relationship between Siddaramaiah and the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dr. G Parameshwara has also gone sour. The KPCC president is also openly criticisng the CM for neglecting the interests of the party.

Siddaramaiah's so called backward class appeasement politics has also angered the dominant castes like Lingayats, Vokkaligas and Scheduled Castes. The coming days are going to be tough for the Congress government in Karnataka.
