Mayawati has lost mental balance: Senior SP leader
Development work came to a complete standstill during the BSP government, Ram Gopal Yadav said.

Ghaziabad: Senior SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav on Tuesday hit back at BSP chief Mayawati for her allegations that UP government has failed to curb the crime graph and fulfill promises made to people, saying "she has lost her mental balance after being voted out of power."

"Allegations made by Mayawati against the SP regime are baseless and it clearly reflects that she has lost her mental balance since BSP was defeated in the assembly polls," Yadav said after inaugurating several projects in Ghaziabad. Crime has been controlled in the state on priority basis, he said.

"Development work came to a complete standstill during the BSP government, therefore we had to lay thrust on projects to bring things back on track," he said. Yadav, general secretary of SP, said his party was not discriminating in promotion.

"The SP government is unbiased in naming officials for key posts and people belonging to different castes were given equal respect in our tenure," he said adding, "In BSP regime, 500 officers were transferred at a time."

On the possibilities of an early Lok Sabha polls, he said, "SP is prepared for the general elections and we have the deserving candidates." Earlier in the day, Mayawati had charged the SP government with reducing Uttar Pradesh into a "crime state" and termed Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav as "ghoshna mukhya mantri (announcement chief minister)". At BSP's 'sankalp maharally' in Lucknow, Mayawati also attacked Samwajwadi Party for opposing reservation in promotions.
