Mumbai: After thousands of Mumbaikars complained that their names were missing from the voters list, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has submitted a memorandum to state electoral officer stating that several names were missing from the voters list.
The party is also mulling the option of filing a PIL in the Bombay High Court. A separate PIL is going to be filed over the issue on Monday.
Thousands of names were reported to be missing from electoral rolls in Mumbai, the prominent ones among them including HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh. The Election Commission has admitted that it has not seen such a large scale operational mistake.
