New Delhi: The Narendra Modi Cabinet will meet for the second time in 48 hours on Thursday. On the agenda is finalising dates of the Parliament session.
Sources say that the first Cabinet meet on Tuesday had cleared a central ordinance on the Polavaram Irrigation project, which merged seven mandals of Telangana into Seemandhra. Prime Minister Modi also met PMO officials on Wednesday and directed that priority must be given to issues raised by the states.
The Modi government is also dealing with fresh controversy over some decisions taken. The government was forced to promulgate an Ordinance to smoothen the way towards appointing Nripendra Misra as the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister.
"It's strange that on the very first day, Narendra Modi has bypassed his own Cabinet to move an Ordinance to appoint Nripendra Misra as his Principal Secretary," Congress leader Ajay Maken said.
