Modi may get the sack before Monday meeting
BCCI president Shashank Manohar is likely to suspend him after IPL final gets over today.

New Delhi/ Mumbai: The Indian cricket board is likely to suspend Lalit Modi before a crucial meeting with the IPL commissioner and chairman on Monday, sources tell CNN-IBN.

The sources say BCCI president Shashank Manohar is likely to suspend Modi for alleged misconduct in managing IPL after the tournament final gets over this evening. A three-member committee is to take over the IPL's management after Modi is suspended.

The Governing Council (GC) of the IPL is meeting in Mumbai on Monday to discuss charges of financial irregularities against Modi.

Modi, who had urged for the meeting to be postponed, on Sunday surprised his detractors by tweeting that he would attend it and even set its agenda.

"I will attend and chair the meeting of the GC as chairman and commissioner. I have issued the agenda to the GC," tweeted Modi

A media release from the IPL later stated that Modi had circulated the notice "informing members of the Governing Council of the Extraordinary meeting to be held on April 26th 2010 at the Headquarters of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The Extraordinary Meeting of the Governing Council will be convened at 10 a.m.

"On the agenda, will be a discussion on any complaints received in writing from members of the Governing Council against the Chairman, other members of the Council and/or the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Members of the Governing Council have been requested to give all such complaints in writing with the requisite supporting documents at the meeting on the morning of 26th April, 2010 to the Chairman and Commissioner, so they can be replied in full."
