Bhopal:The Congress may be downplaying the clamour for Priyanka Gandhi Vadra among the party workers. But, it has not stopped party workers from demanding that she be given an important position in the party to revive its dwindling fortunes. Huge posters urging her to save the party by strengthening the hands of her mother and the Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her brother and party Vice President Rahul Gandhi have sprung up in and around Bhopal overnight.
Local Congress workers feel that only Priyanka can prevent the party from further extinction.
Meanwhile, Priyanka's office on Tuesday denied reports of her assuming more significant role in the party. Accorfing to reports, Priyanka was set to assume important role in the Congress ahead of the Assembly polls.
Senior Congress leader Oscar Fernandes on Wednesday said, "If Priyanka Gandhi plays a bigger role in Congress, it will be good for the party."
Another senior leader Mani Shankar Aiyar said that if she joins the party, then it will be a new beginning. He said, "She will take decision whether she to come to the party or not. But if she joins the party this will be a new beginning."
