RJD-LJP will be victorious in Bihar, Jharkhand: Lalu
16 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, Jharkhand went to poll on Thursday.

Chapra (Bihar): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad claimed the RJD-LJP alliance will win 16 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar and Jharkhand that went to poll in the first phase on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters in his Saran parliamentary constituency, where polling was held during the day, Lalu said reports from 13 Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar suggested massive wave in favour of the combine.

“We are sure of emerging victorious in all these seats,” Lalu, who has Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy as his main opponent in Saran, said.

Charging the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Bihar with targeting the Dalits and the poor to prevent them from voting, he alleged 'feudal forces' prevented them from exercising their franchise at Phalpura and Awadhpura under Garkha assembly segments in his Saran constituency and demaned re-polling in them.

He alleged that the Nitish Kumar government had not deployed any para-military force at the sensitive booths where the erstwhile RJD government had in the last assembly and Lok Sabha polls.

He urged the Election Commission to make necessary security arrangements in the rest of the 27 Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar going to poll in the second, third and fourth phases.
