42. Shahpura is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Rajasthan and is part of Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Shahpura falls in Jaipur district and Central region of Rajasthan. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,07,776 voters in the seat, which includes 1,09,324 male voters, and 98,452 female voters. In the 2018 Rajasthan elections, Shahpura recorded a voter turnout of 82.77%. In 2013 the turnout was 79.13%, and in 2008 it was 69.3%.
In 2013, Rao Rajendra Singh of BJP won the seat by a margin of 2,397 votes (1.71%). Rao Rajendra Singh secured 40.58% of the total votes polled.
