Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha admires UP CM Mayawati. Sinha said he considers her as a one-man army.

New Delhi: Former union minister and BJP Rajya Sabha MP Shatrughan Sinha praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati saying that she is the "iron lady" of BSP, who cannot be "threatened or lured."

Sinha however dismissed rumours that he was keen on joining Bahujan Samajwadi Party. Describing the BSP supreme as an "iron lady" in an interview to Hindi Magazine Outlook, the actor-turn politician said it was not easy to "frighten or lure" Mayawati into anything.

Asked if his meeting with the BSP chief should be interpreted that he was parting with BJP and joining BSP, he said "nobody can say that I am a pickpocket or a corrupt person. Whenever I meet Sonia Gandhi, Lalu Prasad or Mayawati, then this makes the news that I am leaving the party. If I had to leave BJP, then why did I join it?"

However, Sinha admitted that he was being "neglected" in the party but said he was not in any race for a post. "My name is my post, my identity and I am happy. Once it was announced that I am being appointed as convenor of BJP's cultural unit.

I don't know what this department is because no meeting of this department has taken place so far".

Sinha said he considers Mayawati as a one-man army. "I believe that Mayawati is the second name of confidence. Mayawati is the only leader who can give a befitting reply to "UP mein hai dam aur loot rahe hain hum" type leader in the state.

Sinha said Mayawati has some complaints against BJP and he had assured her that he would convey them to party leadership.
