Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Tuesday said the newly launched Third Front was no threat to the BJP.
Speaking to reporters after attending a BJP workers workshop, he said, "The Third Front has been formed by 'desperate' politicians with the single point agenda of defeating the BJP but this is most unlikely to happen."
They (Third Front leaders) had no agenda or any programme that can impress the people. They would not succeed as BJP was poised to garner maximum number of seats in the coming elections, he claimed.
He alleged that Janata Dal(S) had reached a secret understanding with the Congress in Karnataka as the two parties were disturbed over the momentum gained by the BJP in the state.
“There is a BJP wave in Karnataka and we will gain maximum number of seats improving on our performance in 2004,” he said.
BJP had won 18 out of the 28 seats in the previous elections while Congress and the JD(S) had won eight and two seats, respectively.
