New Delhi: Amidst efforts to make power banks slimmer and pocket-friendly, a new power bank emerges that is not only light and compact but also has a design that lets you to carry it around all the time. This power bank is in a form of a band that can be strapped around your wrist.
This wearable power bank "can charge any device on the go and is the first of its kind. We've designed and developed the band to be comfortable and sleek for every day use," say the makers.
The Boost Band houses a circuit with Mini USB input and USB output making it universal to any device. It has a 1,500 mAh capacity battery.
It is said to give an iPhone 6 (1800mAh) about 80 per cent extra battery life and a Samsung Galaxy S5 (2800mAh) about 50 per cent extra battery life.
The band is made of a thermo plastic elastomer with a cover fitting that holds the components in place within the band.
The product is listed on crowdsourced fundraising site Kickstarter.
