New Delhi: Which charges did you face when you were an eighth grader? Copying during an examination or perhaps stealing your classmate's lunch box, but landing behind the bars for changing your teacher's desktop background?
An eighth grader from Florida's Paul R. Smith Middle School, Domaik Green, had been arrested last week on charges of felony and jailed for changing the desktop background of his teacher's system to two dudes kissing.
Authorities say he deftly 'hacked into his school's secure computer network' by guessing the password, which was his teacher's last name, a report on Gawker states.
Green said that he uncovered the password by watching the teacher type it in. Since he didn't like the teacher, he logged into the computer and tried putting inappropriate pictures on his computer to annoy him.
The child also had access to computers with encrypted standardized test questions stored on them. However, authorities said that he didn't view or modify those encrypted files. The school authorities are now in the process of changing the network password.
Green was released later the same day.
