Like a host of technology companies, Nintendo is actively exploring the potential of virtual reality. However, it wants to make sure that whatever device it launches won't have any ill effects on kids.
Nintendo's acting Representative Director Shigeru Miyamoto said during the company's shareholder meeting that safety regarding VR is a main concern.
"We are looking into the possibilities of providing an experience that gives value when played for a short time, and how to eliminate the concerns of long-duration use. We are also looking into how to make sure that a parent doesn't need to worry when their child puts on a VR device in their living room," he said.
Virtual reality is the newest trend taking the gaming industry by storm and game makers as well as social media players like Facebook are betting high on the technology.
