Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has launched its new 6-inch bezel-less smartphone Oppo A79. The new smartphone Oppo A79 features an 18:9 display and looks alike to the Oppo R11 smartphone in relations of the design but there is some difference in terms of their specifications. As for its specifications, the Oppo A79 features a 6-inch OLED display which features 2180 x 1080 pixels resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P23 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of native storage which can be expanded further via a microSD card (up to 256GB). The device runs Android 7.1 Nougat based on Oppo’s preparatory ColorOS 3.2 and is backed by a 3,000mAh battery.
In terms of optics, the smartphone comes with a 16MP rear camera with a f/1.8 aperture and another 16MP unit up front with f/2.0 aperture and the front-facing camera also supports facial recognition feature. In terms of security, the device also features a fingerprint scanner on the rear side. The device is currently listed on the company's Chinese website for CNY 2,399 (approx. Rs 23,500) and will go on sale starting December 1.
Earlier this month Oppo had launched its bezel-less smartphone Oppo 5F in India. In terms of specifications, the Oppo F5 sports a 6-inch Full-HD+ TFT display with 1080x2160 pixel resolution. It is powered by an octa-core MT6763T MediaTek SoC and comes with expandable storage support of up to 256GB. The Oppo F5 runs Oppo’s own ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. It draws its juice from a 3200 mAh battery and comes with connectivity options like dual nano-SIM, 4G VoLTE support, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and USB OTG support.
