A 32-year-old woman in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States has bought a full wardrobe of baby clothes for her future kids. Lawyer by profession, Katie Wood went on a shopping spree for her future children despite not being pregnant or having a partner.
At present, she has reportedly more than 20 sets of clothes and shoes. She keeps them in silica pouches and washes them once a year. The thrifting fan said that she may not have children for the next 8 years but has decided to keep things safe so that she can save money in future.
According to the report of The US Sun, Katie Wood started thrifting for her niece, Isla and nephew Ian. In the course of her shopping, the Tennessee woman decided to save some of her finds for her future kids to save money in the future. Despite not having kids and a partner, Katie Wood denies ignoring the possibility of having her kid in the future. She says that she’ll ‘never say never’ while she builds up the style of her future child. Wood says that she’d be open to having her future partner know about her savings and habits.
While sharing her love for thrifting, Katie Wood said, “I don’t know if I particularly want kids right now- I’m 32 and I don’t have a partner. But I love thrifting- and thrifting for any future kids has kind of become its own thing,” as quoted by The US Sun. Growing up with 14 aunts and numerous cousins, Katie always loved to find new bargains since she was a child. It boomed while she went to garage sales with her parents. Her thrifting habit took a downturn during her teenage years when she rejected the idea of buying clothes second-hand and wanted to wear brand-new and trendy clothes.
After starting at Florida International Law School in 2010, turned back to her love for thrifting clothes to afford better quality items. “My biggest thrifting hack has to be rifling through the bins. Some bits are worth over $40 ( Rs 3,334) that I’ve got for $3 ( Rs 250) each,” said Katie Woods.
