Imagine buying a pair of expensive clothes to show off to your peers and friends and instead of getting complimented for the same, your friends turn sharp critics. What would you do if you faced repeated criticism for your style of clothing? One can choose to not care about it or one can take a page out of the book of Bashir Khan from Churu in Rajasthan.
Bashir Khan, tired of the criticism he faced, mainly due to the unmatching colour of his clothes, took a unique step. He started wearing only white clothes and since then has been seen in public only in pure white. Today, he is famous in the city as Whiteman.
Since his childhood, Bashir Khan has had a penchant for wearing new and expensive clothing. Initially, he wore outfits purchased by his parents, but once he began earning his income, he started selecting and buying high-end clothes of his own choice. However, when he showed these clothes to friends and acquaintances, he often faced criticism about their colours. This feedback bothered him, prompting him to decide to wear only white clothes to eliminate any issues with matching.
These days, he dresses entirely in white shirts, pants, undergarments, shoes and socks. Even his car is white. Bashir Khan explains that white clothes tend to get dirty quickly, so he has numerous white garments tailored to ensure he can consistently maintain his all-white wardrobe.
Bashir Khan, who has upheld his ‘White Man’ style for the past 40 years, shares that he began wearing white clothes at the age of 22. Now 62 years old, he has consistently maintained this all-white attire for four decades. To ensure he never runs into issues with washing or damaging his clothes, he owns dozens of white garments, shoes, and socks. His distinctive style has become his identity, and people now recognise him and refer to him as the White Man.
