In a thoughtful gesture, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, keeping his promise to a little kid, has gifted a brand new laptop to the nine-year-old Sriram. Chandrasekhar met Sriram, who studies in Class 4, on the Vande Bharat Express travelling from Kerala’s Thrissur to Kozhikode. On X, formerly Twitter, the IT Minister shared that he met Sriram, a computer genius, and his mother, a physics teacher, during a train journey when the boy showed him some creative videos he made on his laptop, prompting Chandrasekhar to promise him a new laptop.
Reposting the video shared by news agency ANI, the Union Minister wrote, “I had met young 9 yr old Sriram on a train ride from Thrissur to Kozhikode and he had proudly shown me his creative videos done on his laptop. I had promised him a new laptop and today he got his New Year gift in advance – a brand new Laptop! My best wishes to him & his family and may he continue to study, succeed and make his family proud.”
The minister also shared how Sriram expressed his desire to visit computer companies in Gurgaon. He also shared that Sriram and his classmates will be given a chance to visit IT companies.

The minister also extended his best wishes to the boy and his family, hoping for his studies and success.
The video shows the 9-year-old Sriram expressing joy after receiving the laptop from the authorities. The video further shows him unboxing the laptop, beaming with happiness for receiving a New Year gift in advance. He then also switched on the laptop.
Reacting to the video, many praised the minister’s gesture. A user wrote, “Heartwarming gesture”, while another one wrote, “Many make a promise but very few remember it. Really Appreciate your gesture Rajeev ji.”
