Cow Painted With Unique Valentine's Day Imagery Stirs Online Debate
While many found the video amusing, a few people raised concerns about the cow’s wellbeing.

A video that shows a cow painted as a mural which demonstrates a man seemingly proposing to a woman with a flower bouquet is going viral. The cow is painted in such a way that when it walks, it appears that the woman and the man painted over the bovine are also walking. A video of this unique artwork was posted on platform X (Formerly Twitter) on Valentine’s Day. So far, it has over 19,000 views and hundreds of likes. It is unclear when and where this incident took place. Appreciating this unusual art work, an X user wrote, “Impressive craftsmanship, indeed!" Another asserted, “Amazing talent"

While many found the video amusing, a few people raised concerns about the cow’s wellbeing as the paint can harm the cow’s skin, besides the cow can also lick the toxic paint off its body and fall sick. Expressing this sentiment, an X user wrote, “This isn’t cute — this is abuse."

This is not the first time that people have painted animals for entertainment or decorative purposes. In 2019, two donkeys were painted black and white to resemble zebras for a safari-themed wedding reception in Spain. The donkeys were spotted outside a bar by Angel Tomas Herrera Pelaez, a resident of El Palmar, a town in Cadiz. He clicked photos of the painted animals and posted them on Facebook. He described the sight as “repulsive and shameful" and also reported the incident to animal rights activists.

Commenting on this post, a Facebook user wrote, “People are really sick in the head, more and more disgusted with the human race every day."

In December 2019 similar news came from Karnataka when Srikanth Gowda, a farmer, painted stripes on his pet dog to scare away monkeys from his coffee and areca crop farms. Gowda told ANI, “Earlier I used to bring soft toys (of tigers) from Goa and place them in my fields to scare away the monkeys. But in the long run, the colour of the toy would fade and the monkeys would return and damage the crop. Then I painted my dog Bulbul using hair dye to make him look like a tiger." He added, “I now take Bulbul to the fields twice a day – once in the morning and once in the evening. I have seen the monkeys run away at the sight of a dog resembling a tiger. The monkeys now refrain from entering my plantations."
