Mumbai and its surrounding areas were drenched as rain poured down in torrents over the past 24 hours, leading to widespread waterlogging and chaos in suburban train services. The downpour wreaked havoc, causing delays for officegoers and servicemen who found themselves stranded in waterlogged streets. Amidst the challenging situation, a journalist couldn’t help but express her gratitude to two heroic taxi drivers who came to her aid, showcasing the undying spirit of Mumbai even amidst the turmoil.
Sharing her experience on ‘X’, Latha Venkatesh, the executive director of CNBC-TV18, wrote, “Deeply grateful to 2 taxidrivers who helped out in the rains today.” She recounted how the first driver rescued her and three others stranded outside Sion Hospital and took them to Plaza, refusing any payment. “I had to force a 100 rupee note. He forced me to take back Rs50,” she shared.
