Losing a phone can send shivers down anyone’s spine, but for a woman in Delhi, that nerve-wracking feeling lasted just a few hours, all thanks to the swift action of the Police. In a rare stroke of luck, the woman managed to reclaim her lost iPhone after the Delhi Police sprang into action, retrieving her phone in a mere three hours. Overflowing with gratitude, Ekta Thakur took to ‘X’ to share her heartfelt appreciation.
“My deepest gratitude to HC Ajay Yadav, Anil yadav and Gajraj Rao who jumped to action about a lost iPhone in Munirka, recovered within 3 hours of losing it. Deeply indebted to their continued service in keeping Delhi safe. Thank you so much,” read Ekta’s caption alongside her selfie with the head constables.
The moment Ekta’s post hit the online sphere, it caught the attention of social media users far and wide.

When questioned about the ordeal, Ekta shared, “The police were extremely invested in getting the phone back from the minute they heard of the mishap in the auto. They took me to the police station, filed an FIR & got the IMEI number from Jio’s records & started tracking the phone.”
Upon learning that the FindMyFriends feature on her MacBook provided more accurate tracking, the police wasted no time. They joined forces with Ekta and her flatmate, scouring Munirka and RK (places in New Delhi) Puram until they narrowed down the phone’s location.
“Once we had narrowed down the location, they were tough in their interrogations of the auto drivers & retrieved my phone. They were extremely kind & wonderful to us & they even bought us dinner after! Hats off Delhi police!” Ekta exclaimed.
Delhi Police’s official account also shared Ekta’s post, expressing gratitude: “Thank you, Ekta ji, for sharing your experience and appreciating our service.”

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police also made headlines last year for aiding a UK vlogger in finding the iPhone he lost in an auto-rickshaw during Ganeshotsav. The YouTuber, Phil Bland, documented his nerve-wracking experience using his GoPro camera, from the moment he boarded the auto-rickshaw to the eventual recovery facilitated by the Mumbai Police. Bland, deeply appreciative of their assistance, shared his vlog on his YouTube channel, commending the police force’s efficiency and dedication.
