A group of locals in Himachal Pradesh sparked outrage after violently attempting to rescue a Nilgai calf that a python had swallowed whole. To free the animal, the men tried to force the python to vomit the calf. This incident occurred in the Una district and was recorded on video.
In the clip, two men were seen grabbing the python by its tail and whipping the snake around. Its jaws were opened wide as the calf’s body was gradually extruded from the reptile’s mouth.
The video, later posted on social media sites, got thousands of views. Some viewers perceived the handling of the python as very violent as the rescuers threw punches and kicks at the reptile.
The video was posted by Indian Forest Service officer Parveen Kaswan on X and comes with a question to the users: “What do you think; is it right to interfere like this in the natural world? Or they did the right thing?”

However, one user had the opposing views and said, “As part of nature ourselves, it’s our instinct to protect those in need. Intervening shows our compassion and responsibility as stewards of the environment. Sometimes, we can help balance nature too. What do you think?”
