Internet Praises Principal For Removing Swami Vivekananda’s Image As Student Performs Dance. Here's Why
The video shows how the principal ensured that a screen displaying Swami Vivekananda’s image was turned off while the student danced to a Bollywood dance song.

Delhi University is famous for promoting a progressive student-teacher relationship where students can represent quirky shades of their personalities in a safe environment, without any judgments. Proving this right, a video reportedly, came into existence from Bhagini Nivedita College, DU, where a student is performing to a Bollywood number in an auditorium. Behind the student was a screen displaying an image of Swami Vivekananda. As the performance progresses, the principal gets up and ensures the screen is turned off instead of stopping the performance. Since being shared online, the video has garnered significant traction, amassing more than 3.2 million views so far. The video is being shared across social media sites and has garnered a flurry of reactions from social media users who are lauding the principal’s quick action and approach.

In the viral video, a student starts dancing to the song Jadoo Ki Jhappi from the Bollywood film Ramaiya Vastavaiya. As the performance progresses, the principal is seen standing up from her seat and making her way up to the stage. The anticipated action one might imagine would be to stop the act. However, she instructed a colleague to turn off the screen showing the image of Swami Vivekananda. The screen is quickly turned off, allowing the student’s dance to continue without any interruption.

Despite the overlay caption suggesting that the principal halted the performance, the video clearly shows that her intervention was solely to remove the background image and not to disrupt the performance.

Many social media users have appreciated the principal’s action, while some have also mentioned that teachers should monitor the songs on which students perform.

One viewer expressed, “Respect for the principal," Some viewers clarified that the principal’s action was limited to removing Swami Vivekananda’s image from the background and did not involve stopping the performance.
