Once again, Kanye West is grabbing the headlines. This time for a bold dental transformation where he replaced all his teeth with titanium dentures. The rapper proudly revealed his new smile in a now-deleted Instagram post and compared himself to the iconic James Bond villain, Jaws, featured in The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker. Kanye’s custom-designed dental accessory, rumoured to be ‘more expensive than diamonds,’ was created by the artist himself and came with a staggering price tag of $850,000 (approximately Rs 7 crore). According to Daily Mail, Dr. Thomas Connelly in Beverly Hills, along with Master Dental Technician Naoki Hayashi, crafted West’s extravagant new dentures.
Connelly said, “Ye was a pleasure to work with every step of the process. His vision for designing unique art transcends the dental progression. The marriage of his vision with dental science has created a new look that is epic.” While an insider added, “Ye has had the bulk of his teeth shaved down to little tombstones, which is standard procedure for veneers”
On the other hand, a source close to Kanye West explained the procedure to The Washington Post and claimed, “The technical term is fixed prosthodontics. They are fixed and permanent. This goes way beyond veneers or grills. It’s quite unlike anything that has been done before. It’s experimental dentistry, to say the least. All that said, his teeth weren’t removed.”

Kanye West’s recent dental transformation follows a noteworthy revelation he made years ago on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2010. At that time, he shared the unconventional decision of having his entire bottom row of teeth removed and replacing them with sparkling diamond and gold implants. Back then, he said, “I just thought that diamonds were cooler.” He shared that he specifically requested his dentist to remove his bottom row of teeth and replace them with diamond and gold implants. Intrigued by his transformation, Ellen questioned whether it was a grill, to which Kanye clarified, “It’s really my real teeth. I replaced my bottom row of teeth. I guess there’s just certain things that rock stars are supposed to do.”
West’s recent dental transformation comes as he prepares for the release of his upcoming album with Ty Dolla $ign, titled Vultures. Initially slated for a January release, the album has been rescheduled for February. Meanwhile, in December, the artist made headlines by posting a Hebrew apology regarding several antisemitic rants dating back to 2022.
