From choosing the right dress to writing down the perfect vows, However, recently, a groom surprised everyone at his wedding party, along with the bride, with his set of unusual vows. The video from this ceremony is going viral on the internet, and people are not quite pleased by the groom’s words and lack of emotion.
A clip from the wedding ceremony of Kaitlin Brooks and Cody Sheehan has sparked a debate over the controversial vow taken by the groom. The videographer Samuel Foree shared the clip to his Instagram page with the caption: “FELLAS, this is your sign to go write those vows… now.”

Reportedly, the video begins after the bride, Kaitlin, proclaimed her love through her vows. She tried to sum up the relationship and shared how she fell in love with the man over and over again. The groom surely faced a difficult task to match up with the words and emotions of his bride. However, he did not have much to say. Smiling at his bride he said, “I promise to smack that… every chance I get. Booah. That’s all I got.” He then kept laughing at the altar.
The guests were quite shocked, as was the officiant, who tried to urge him to say something more, asking, “Is that it? Are you sure? That’s what you’re going out with?”
Cody replied, “I didn’t write nothing down. That’s what I’m going with. We’ve made it this long!” The bride seemed to laugh it off. Even the videographer was quite amazed and in another post, he wrote that it was one of the “most interesting wedding we’ve ever filmed to date”
However, netizens were not happy about the exchange of vows and had several reactions to the clip. Some users wrote, “The officiant tried saving him and he didn’t get the hint,” “She deserves better.”
One person wrote, “We’ve made it this long = she’s accepted my lack of effort for this long so why change now.” While, another one expressed, “How sad for the woman and her family that this is what he says about her. He thinks he’s so funny that he didn’t write any vows.”
There were some who pointed out, “‘Cmon Cody’ from someone in the audience just solidifies that this isn’t bros first time being the family disappointment.”
