Just 17 kilometres away from Jharkhand’s Ranchi, a strange incident occurred. Local people claimed they witnessed a scene at Hudwa Sarna Sthal that surprised them. Three women, worshipping Sarna Maa, climbed up an 80-foot tree at a Sarna Sthal. When the local people asked them to climb down, they refused and clearly stated that they would climb down the tree only after nine days. But why? The three women are Salgi Toppo, Nagi Toppo and Babi Toppo. It was a part of the ritual of worshipping Sarna Maa. Now, they will be climbing down only after nine days. As per the local people, the women climbed up so high to meditate and should not be disturbed.
A woman named Santoshi Devi was guarding these three women from below. In an interview with Local 18, she shared, “I live next to this place and seeing these people sitting on top, we sit below and guard them. We have unwavering faith in Sarna Maa. We worship nature. We worship water, forest and land. And these three (women) chose the lap of nature for their meditation.” She added that she would do Sadhana for 9 days by climbing the tree. After that, she will come down and do Sadhana by engaging in Puja rituals for the next 51 days. She had made a wish to Sarna Maa and hence, she is doing these rituals to fulfil her wishes.
Another woman named Pritam Devi shared that the women would come down at 4:00 am and eat fruits. There is also a place of worship for Sarna Maa and will go there to worship Her. After the worship, they would once again climb up the tree. They also sleep in the tree at night. While they have been warned about any untoward incident, their faith is so strong that they refuse to listen to anyone.
What do you think of the incident?
