People all around the world are quite adventurous. They take part in a lot of adventure sports and indulge in adrenaline-driven activities. Many times, these small activities can be fatal. A similar situation has happened in the UK, where a woman went fishing and her leg got scratched by a fishing hook. Due to this, a terrible infection had spread in her body, and she has had to undergo 55 surgeries in 5 years. She also has a big hole in her thigh due to the surgery. Now, she lives every day in fear of losing her life and has even asked the doctor to remove her leg. According to reports, the name of the woman is Michelle Milton, who is 36 years old and resides in Stanford-le-Hope, England. She had gotten a small scratch from the fishing hook, and this has led to her demanding the doctors remove her leg.
As per reports, Michelle revealed that in August 2019, she went fishing with her brother Martin Milton. During her fishing trip, she felt that a thorn pricked her foot. She thought it was a minor scratch, but after four days, her leg started swelling, and she had a high fever.
After doctors investigated, they found that this infection was caused by a fishing hook. In such a situation, doctors started giving antibiotics, but no positive results were found. Many parts of her body had to be amputated, leaving a huge hole in her thigh. After that, there were several operations, including skin grafts, washouts, and tissue removals, but the infection didn’t stop in her body.
Michelle revealed that she experiences immense pain every day. In order to avoid that, she even requested that doctors amputate her leg, but the doctors refused to do so. While narrating her story, Michelle said, “’I had no idea what was happening. The pain increased, and the infection spread throughout my leg. I live in pain every day and every moment. I miss my family and children. Even doctors don’t know what’s happening with the infection.”.
Michelle is the mother of two children aged between 17 and 20. Currently, she spends most of her time at the hospital.
