We hear and read about such shocking news in our daily life. Something similar happened to a couple living in America. The couple resides in Phoenix city. They stumbled upon an unexpected treasure while renovating their home. The discovery, which occurred during repairs to their house, involved finding a safe, hidden within a kitchen wall. The couple’s story went viral after they shared it on social media. While sharing her story on social media platform Imgur, a woman from Phoenix City wrote that the couple initially noticed the safe inside the kitchen during the renovation process, but were puzzled about its contents and how to access them. After finding a code written on the back of the safe, they managed to open it after several attempts. They found approximately Rs 43 lakh from inside. There were many other surprising things in the safe.
“We stared in disbelief. Time stood still. I started to reach in the safe and Eddie yelled, ‘Wait! It might be booby trapped!’ I’m still laughing at that one,” she said.
The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, said that there were mostly 100-dollar notes, a bottle of liquor from 1960 and a titled ‘A Guide for the Perplexed’ by EF Schumacher published in 1977. There was also a photo of an unidentified man with a note mentioning a book recommendation. “Alan, I have a book you must read. I’ve underlined a few key passages. Your friend, Vincent,” written on the back of the book.
The couple have also added that they don’t know what to do with the money.
“If Alan is still out there, it was meant for him after all. But we’re keeping the bourbon,” she further wrote.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the incident actually took place in 2015.
