It is common to find three riders on a single bike or ‘tripling,’ making it through the busy Indian roads. On top of it, most of them violate another traffic norm by going helmetless. While such practices are considered illegal and punishable by law, people still don’t seem to heed them. Surprisingly, a British couple also decided to go all-desi to experience authentic Indian life as they tried ‘tripling’ with an Indian man in Nashik.
Jack Aynsley and his wife, Paige Metcalfe, recently arrived in India and shared glimpses of their visit. Sharing a video on Instagram, Jack showed how he and his wife hitched a ride with a motorcyclist in Nashik. The video begins with showing the British tourists, asking the motorcyclist for directions for a route. Upon understanding that the man was going in the same direction as them, the couple asked if they could get a ride on the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist readily agreed and took them for a ride towards their destination. The video then goes on to show the trio ‘tripling’ on the two-wheeler. “This is our first time doing three on a bike. This is Indian style. I love Indian style,” Jack says in the video, as he remains seated behind. After completing their ride, the couple expressed their gratitude to the motorcyclist, praising him for his helpful gesture.
“This is Why We LOVE Travelling India,” he wrote in the caption. The video has gone viral with nearly 2 million views in just a week. Many took to the comment section and shared their different takes on the video. A user wrote, “Hey, if you are still in Nashik, I would like to show you around,” while another commented, “I love Indian style and it made me laugh.”
Users even flooded the comment section with various suggestions for the couple. While some urged the couple to try out local delicacies like Misal Pav, others listed out a few tourist sites for them to visit. Describing themselves as travel vloggers, Jack’s Instagram handle is filled with various videos of their tours to parts of the world.
