Watch: Great Wall Of China Overcrowded With Tourists, Resembling Crawling Ants
The clip begins with people climbing the Wall. Then, the camera pans to show how the whole stretch of the fall is just crowded with people and resembles ants crawling.

Right from our primary classes, we have been taught that one of the seven wonders of the world is the Great Wall of China, which is the longest wall in the world. So, naturally, every year, lakhs of tourists flock to this place to witness its beauty. Now, recently, a clip has gone viral on the internet that shows more than hundreds of people on the Great Wall of China. But what’s fascinating is that such is the crowd that they almost resemble ants crawling at the heritage site.

A blogger, Chen, shared a video on his Instagram account of tourists at the Great Wall of China. The clip begins with people climbing the Wall. Then, the camera pans to show how the whole stretch of the fall is just crowded with people and resembles ants crawling. The Instagram post will leave you shocked to see how people have made a beeline to check out the UNESCO World Heritage Site and have created quite a jam on the wall.

Naturally, the internet was shocked to see such a huge crowd spread out as far as it can be seen. A user wondered, “What happens if someone needs the toilet?” A comment read, “Now I’m gonna erase this on my bucket list if this is the case.” One user pointed out the possible reason for overcrowding. The comment read, “This happens because when China has a national holiday, they usually go to many popular landmarks. So, when you want to travel in China or anywhere popular, avoid their holidays.” One user had a completely different experience during their visit and wrote, “I visited the Great Wall one month ago and it was quite empty, especially early morning. The visit was very nice. It is better to avoid the first days of May and October for the National holiday.” The video has garnered more than 10 million views on Instagram.

The Great Wall of China spans across 21,196 kilometres. Several walls of the heritage place were built as early as the 7th century BC with selective stretches joined later somewhere between 220-206 BC by Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China.
