A video of a young girl panicking after being unable to remove her face paint is going viral. The undated clip shows a girl joined by her mother at the sink as they try to scrub off the paint using a washcloth. The woman tells the young girl that the hot water-soaked washcloth may be “too hot” but the little girl insists that she doesn’t care as long as her face paint comes off. The woman then tries to scrub off the paint but it stays intact. At this, the young girl starts panicking and crying. At one point, she even loudly prays to god and proclaims that she regrets using the face paint in the first place.
The woman then applies soap to the girl’s face and wipes it off with a washcloth, successfully removing the paint. As the paint comes off, the girl smiles widely in relief. This short video, capturing a range of dramatic emotions from disbelief and anger to relief and happiness, has garnered over 1.9 million likes on Instagram. It remains unclear how the girl got the paint on her face initially.
“The fact that her go to was to call on the Lord when she was nervous tells me she has a STRONG foundation. But this was hilarious lol the sigh of relief when she saw it was working,” wrote a user.
Another one said, “As soon as she started saying her Prayer God sent Angel’s to help her.”
“Her mother not taking out the paint on purpose so that she doesn’t do that again,” read a hilarious comment.
Meanwhile, there were many who criticised the mother for purposely taking time to remove the paint. Coming to her defence, an Instagram user argued, “My opinion is Mom did the right thing teaching her a lesson. If she had washed it off easily first she would have most likely painted her face again knowing Mom could “fix it”. It was okay to let her worry about it for a minute. Hopefully, a lesson learned.”
