Watch: Python Coils Around Drunk Man In Andhra Pradesh, Villagers Rush To Save Him
In the video, the python can be seen wrapped around the man’s neck with him being completely unaware of the snake.

A giant python was spotted coiling itself around a drunk man in Andhra Pradesh. The incident occurred when a truck driver, who was over the limit of alcohol concentration after working hours, tripped and fell on a nearby platform and had no idea of the potential harm. It reportedly unfolded in the Singanapalle village which is in the Kurnool district.

As per Telugu Scribe, the driver, who could not make it home, got drunk and fell asleep outdoors. As he was lying down, a giant python suddenly crawled out of the woods and wrapped itself around him. In the video clip, the python is shown wrapped around the man’s neck with him being completely unaware of the snake.

Residents of the area saw the python and rushed to help the man. They used the firewood to push the snake away from him and save him from what could have been a fatal incident.

Many expressed gratitude that the situation did not escalate into tragedy.

A comment translated from Telugu read, “It doesn’t have poison… it didn’t swallow him. The danger is that the man can be rolled and crushed.”

The pythons found in Andhra Pradesh are the Indian rock python: Python molurus and the Burmese python: Python bivittatus.

The Indian rock pythons are one of the largest pythons of India with an average length of 10 to 13 feet; however, the snakes may vary with length. It is a non-venomous snake species which appears in several shades of white and yellow with black spots. The colour may differ due to the geographical locations it inhabits. It thrives in various geopathic conditions such as grasslands, swamps and marshes, rocks, foothills and open forests. It is found in tropical and sub-temperate regions of the Indian subcontinent.

Another significant species found in Andhra Pradesh is the Burmese python. It can weigh more than the Indian rock python, up to 50 kg (110 lbs), and grow up to 14 feet (4.3 meters). This species is usually found in Southeast Asia; however, there have been sightings of this species all over India including Andhra Pradesh. A young Burmese python measuring 14 feet was caught alive recently in the Srikakulam district, the latest instance of this snake being found in the region as this place is more familiar with the Indian rock pythons.
