Pain au chocolat, or “bread with chocolate,” is one of the most popular desserts in France. Wrapped in light Danish pastry dough, the classic pain au chocolat is made with pure couverture chocolate. The dark, rich chocolate that runs through the middle is what gives it its magic. The best is soft, malleable, and just warm enough so that when you bite into one, a little chocolate seeps out.
We want to guarantee that there is chocolate in every bite of pain au chocolat, also known as chocolate bread or sometimes even a chocolate croissant. Made by folding thin Danish pastry dough between layers of pure couverture chocolate, it’s a multi-layered sweet pastry. This delectable French breakfast pastry is best served warm, alongside coffee or tea.
Every time you bite into a perfectly cooked piece of flaky crust, soft layers of buttery bread, or melt-in-your-mouth dark chocolate, it brings true joy, no matter how many you eat in your lifetime.
Now a video of the ‘world’s biggest pain au chocolat’ is going viral on the internet. The video captures a woman cutting the world’s largest pain au chocolat and eating a big slice from it. The clip was shared on Instagram by Unilad on January 24. Since being posted, it has collected over 5.44 lakh views and more than 5,000 likes.
The video opens with a woman taking out the ‘world’s biggest pain au chocolat’ from a brown paper cover. She holds the pain au chocolat in her hands for a few seconds to show the size of it – which is large. The woman then places it on a wooden board. She then neatly cuts the sides, takes out a big piece from it and keeps it aside on a small plate. Without waiting much time, the lady digs into the mouth-watering pain au chocolat with a fork. As she breaks a piece from it, the dark chocolate can be seen seeping out of the soft pastry.
Social media users were quick to comment on the same. A user wrote, “Should last us a couple of days” while another commented, “There’s a reason things are invented the size they are. And it was long before social media to obsessively make content for.” Another added, “Looks like heartburn in a place,” while an Instagram user mentioned that it “looks dry and tasteless.” Meanwhile, a user doubted the size of the pain au chocolat. He wrote, “How do we know it’s actually big? She could be really small with tiny plates.” Another asserted, “Too much Pain, too little chocolate.”
What do you think of this massive pain au chocolat? Would you try it?
