When Sonu, a delivery worker for Zomato, came to pick up an order at Starbucks in New Delhi’s Khan Market, he wasn’t alone. Sonu, a single dad, had his two-year-old kid with him.
Devendra Mehra, the store manager of Starbucks at Khan Market shared a post about Sonu on LinkedIn. “Today, a Zomato delivery boy came to our store to pick up an order. He touched our hearts. Despite facing challenges at home, he continues to work hard while caring for his 2-year-old daughter. He is a single parent. Seeing his dedication and love was truly inspiring,” he posted.
Those in attendance were moved by Sonu’s resolve to support his family while ensuring that his daughter is happy. Touched by his tale, the Starbucks staff gave his daughter a small treat of a babyccino, a warm, kid-friendly milk beverage.
“We were honored to offer her a small treat of babyccino, hoping to bring a little smile to her face. It reminded us of the strength and resilience of the human spirit, even in difficult times. We wish him and his daughter all the best, and we’re grateful for the small moments that remind us of the kindness and empathy that connect us all,” Mehra added.
Meanwhile, Zomato thanked Mehra for sharing Sonu’s heartfelt tale and said, “Thank you so much for sharing this touching story. We’re deeply moved by his strength”. They also stated that Sonu’s resilience and commitment exemplified their team’s spirit.
It’s no surprise that the post went viral, attracting more than 9,000 reactions. Users expressed their love and appreciation for Sonu.
