The gruesome murder of a 26-year-old Holly Bramley at the hands of her husband shocked the United Kingdom. The accused had stabbed her to death and chopped her body in over 200 pieces and stored them in his kitchen larder, before dumping her mortal remains with a friend’s help.
The accused, 28-year-old Nicholas Metson, confessed to killing his wife on Friday. He had been denying the allegations of the murder — which took place in March — for several weeks. However, officials told the Lincoln Crown Court that Metson never disclosed the reason behind the murder or how he committed it, BBC reported.
Metson had paid his friend, Joshua Hancock, fifty pounds to get rid of Bramley’s mortal remains, the court was told.
WHAT POLICE FOUND AT THE COUPLE’S FLAT
After receiving distress reports expressing concern for Bramley’s welfare, Lincolnshire Police paid a visit to the couple’s home on March 24, 2023.
Policemen found the flat to be strongly smelling of ammonia and bleach. They also found blood-soaked sheets in the bathtub and dark spots on the floor, which later turned out to be Bramley’s blood.
The home looked like it had been freshly refurbished and cleaned. Talking to the cops, Metson claimed to have been a domestic abuse victim at the hands of his wife. He even showed them a bitemark on his arm.
Reportedly, the prosecutor told the court that the bite mark suggested that Bramley “was being restrained in a headlock”. He reportedly told the policemen that Bramley had left with a women’s support group on March 19.
However, police found lies in Metson’s statements and eventually returned to search the flat again. At this, Metson even jokingly told them that his wife “might be hiding under the bed”.
COPS FINDS OVER 200 PIECES OF BRAMLEY’S BODY
A day after the search at Bramley-Metson’s flat, the discovery that was made in Bassingham’s River Witham left a terrifying effect.
A walker, passing by the river, noticed floating plastic bags in the river and one of them had a human hand. Soon after he informed the police, divers jumped into the river, only to find 224 pieces of Bramley’s body, BBC cited the court hearing.
However, some of her body parts remain undiscovered.
THE EVIL MURDER
The court was told that Metson likely stabbed his wife multiple times in the bathroom, after which he dismemebered her body in the bathroom.
He collected the body pieces in plastic bags and stored them in his kitchen larder — a cold storage for food — before getting Hancock’s help in disposing it off.
After killing his wife, Metson even went to google to search “What benefits do I get if my wife died” and “Can someone haunt me after they die”, BBC further reported.
HOLLY BRAMLEY’S MOTHER IN COURT
Annette Bramley, the victim’s mother, directly addressed Metson in the court and said he had given her family a lifetime of grief.
“The heinous way in which she was murder and dismembered has left us in such unimaginable pain,” she was quoted as saying in court.
The statements from Holly Bramley’s family members suggested that the 28-year-old “evil monster” had subjected his wife to coercive control and manipulative behaviour. The couple, who got married in 2021, were on the brink of separation when Holly Bramley was murdered.
Bramley’s last appearance was caught on the CCTV footage on March 17, when she was returning to her home.
Reportedly, the accused had previous crime record of offences against his former partners. Though Metson denied killing Bramley, he admitted to the crime at the Lincoln Crown Court last month. His sentencing is due to be pronounced on Monday.
