Electric mobility startup BluSmart has launched a new app, BluSmart Charge, to help users in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru find nearby EV charging stations.

The app, available on Android and iOS, is designed for all EV users, including fleet operators and individuals, providing unparalleled convenience, the company announced on Monday.

In addition to the app, BluSmart has expanded its charging infrastructure network, celebrating the opening of its 50th EV charging hub. These hubs cover over 1.8 million square feet and feature over 5,000 fast and slow charging stations powered by green energy.

Located in prime spots like malls, corporate parks, and metro stations, these hubs offer superior design, minimal car queuing, and a high capacity utilization of 25 percent.

The BluSmart Charge app stands out by offering accessible, reliable, and convenient (ARC) charging. Key features include enhanced charger discovery, real-time updates on charger availability, and chargers suited to different vehicle types.

According to Business Standard, Tushar Garg, co-founder and CEO of BluSmart, said the app aims to address key challenges in EV adoption in India by making charging accessible and reliable. “As we expand, the density of our charging infrastructure will make charging easier for everyone. India is transitioning to eMobility, and BluSmart’s infrastructure will support this change,” he added.

The app also simplifies the charging process by offering a single platform for both fleet operators and individual users, with seamless payment integration for secure transactions. It includes a digitized entry and exit process to enhance safety and a centralized fleet management system to track and monitor charging sessions and payments.

Since its inception in 2019, BluSmart has operated over 7,500 EVs, completing more than 14.9 million emission-free trips and saving 35.7 million kg of CO2 emissions.

According to the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, India currently has 10,186 operational public charging stations. Public sector undertakings operate 4,284 of these, while private sector operators, including Ujoy Technology, Tata Power, and Kazam, manage the rest.
