Musician Zedd Praises Tesla Autopilot on Twitter for Saving his Life, Elon Musk Replies

Tesla Inc. is going through some turbulent times, especially with the questions arising on the safety of the Autopilot on the Tesla cars. There had been a slew of fatal accidents where Tesla Autopilot has been blamed by the family of the deceased. However, in a respite to the Autopilot, Anton Zaslavski, record producer, DJ and Musician, better known as Zedd, has praised the Tesla Autopilot.

Zedd went all praises for the Tesla Autopilot in a recent Twitter post and said that he would have ended up dead had it not been for the Tesla Autopilot, who fell asleep driving his car. The Tesla Autopilot woke Zedd up with music and beeping, saving his life from a possible fatal crash.

The Twitter post by Zedd reads: “There’s lots of “bad" news about Teslas w/ autopilot crashing. Just to show the other side too: I once fell asleep driving home late at night on the highway (w/ autopilot on) and got woken up by it beeping + turning off music to wake me up. Would have prob been dead without it."

Elon Musk, founder of Tesla, who is very active on Twitter responded to Zedd’s post by saying – “Glad you’re ok!" Elon Musk has been vocal about the safety standards of all the Tesla cars. Earlier this year, family of Walter Huang, who died in a crash while driving a Tesla Model X said that the Autopilot feature in the electric carmaker's vehicle probably caused his death.

Walter Huang died in a crash near Mountain View, California, prompting investigations by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Tesla later said the vehicle logs from the accident showed no action had been taken by Huang before the crash and that he had received warnings to put his hands on the wheel.

Tesla said the system always reminds drivers to be alert and have hands on the wheel and had warned Huang several times on the day of the crash to do so.
