The number of Gypsys and Thars on road is enough to give you an idea of just how much these vehicles are loved. They aren’t the fastest nor the quickest but they are the toughest and that is their USP. But if you are one of those people who has wondered just how tough vehicles like these or perhaps, how tough of a driver are you and then the newly launched Off-Road Adventure zone is the place for your answers.
Located in the Delhi-NCR region near the Gurgaon-Faridabad toll road, the experience zone allows you to bring your own 4-wheel drive car or hire one of the ten modified off-roaders available for hire. Once you do that, you have several obstacle courses spread across 4-acres of land for you to master. If you are concerned about the pricing, then it has kept within reason as well – Rs 1000 for 2 hours if you have your own vehicle and Rs 3500 for 2 hours if you hire one, which is inclusive of fuel for the hired vehicle.
If you live your life on two wheels then you will have to bring your own motorcycle and can hire the track for Rs 500 for 2 hours. And according to Vikramjeet Sharma, Owner of Off-Road Adventure Zone, talks are on with Triumph Motorcycles for the inclusion of Tiger motorcycles in their fleet. Meanwhile, Polaris has also allotted their vehicle which is up for hire at the venue.
Safety seems to be a top priority, though, as once you set off on the track, you will be accompanied by a safety marshal at all times who will guide you on how to tackle the obstacle course as well. There’s also an Ambulance available at all times at the venue itself.
Talking about the track, then there is a total of 25 obstacles which have designed for experts and first-time drivers alike. There is also a track that’s been laid on the perimeter of the course wherein you can go fast, try to set your fastest time and perhaps let your car fishtail a bit. We were driven around by one of the marshals at this track in a humongous modified Thar which was drifting at the fast, long right-hander. So it is actually possible.
One of the things that you need to keep in mind is that your vehicle, if you choose to drive at the venue, should be a 4x4 or 4-wheel drive in order to successfully tackle the array of extreme-angled climbs and descends, slush pits, rock crawls, camel humps and water wading obstacles.
Vikramjeet added, “I have been off-roading since 2007 and love this sport from the core of my heart. The scarcity of good off-roading tracks in near vicinity motivated me to come up with the Off-Road Adventure Zone.”
He also said that the track will be modified after every 2 months so that enthusiasts have a different course to take on when this happens and offers varied experience. The current course will take about 2 hours to cover for a beginner and around 45 minutes for experts to cover.
All in all, it is a great initiative undertaken by the Off-Road Adventure team to come up with a full-fledged experience zone which also focuses on safety and an adrenaline-filled experience that is backed by 10 of the most extreme vehicles which are ready for hire. It’s definitely worth checking out.
