When Adipurush hit theatres in June 2023, it faced massive backlash. However, today, it is trending big on the microblogging site X, formerly known as Twitter. But this time, for all the positive reasons. Interestingly, this comes ahead of the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.
On Monday morning, several social media users shared videos of decked-up Ayodhya and added the Adipurush song ‘Ram Siya Ram’ to it. Sung by Sachet Tandon and Parampara Tandon, netizens praised the song and called it “timeless”. “The music of #AjayAtul for #Adipurush will always be remembered for its perfection, they gave their best ❤️,” one of the users wrote. Another netizen shared, “#RamMandir is ready and glorious . The #Adipurush song is so Beautiful as the background. These songs will be immortal.” Check out some of the posts here:

Adipurush was released in theatres on June 16, 2023. The film is based on the Hindu mythological epic Ramayana. However, following its release, the film faced immense backlash from the audience for allegedly distorting the epic. People expressed disappointment with the film’s dialogues and portrayal of Ravana and Lord Hanuman. Even though the makers changed the infamous ‘kapda tere baap ka’ dialogue, it made no impact. A plea in the Supreme Court was also filed seeking revocation of CBFC certification of the Om Raut directorial. However, it was rejected by the top court.
Later in November 2023, Adipurush writer Manoj Muntashir finally admitted that the film was ‘wrong’. He was speaking to The Lallantop when he explained that even though the intention behind the film was good, it failed to connect with the audience. “Adipurush is a film which was made with good intentions, but it was wrong, and by accepting this, I will not become small,” he said.
