A Chelsea steward has been hospitalized after being injured in a crowd surge at Stamford Bridge
London: Chelsea say a steward has been hospitalized after being injured in a crowd surge at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League match against Manchester United. The London club is also investigating if objects were hurled toward the pitch by fans.
Chelsea spokesman Steve Atkins says a male steward was crushed during a surge by home fans after Javier Hernandez's winner for Man United on Sunday. He appeared to have twisted a knee after falling to the ground.
Atkins says "we are investigating all the incidents around that time,"including "reports of objects that may have been thrown or incidents around the steward taking fall."Hernandez scored in the 75th minute to give United a 3-2 win and end Chelsea's unbeaten start in the league.
